NAP Membership Categories

Distinguished Fellow   |   Professional   |   Associate   |   Retired


Distinguished Fellow, FNAP

Distinguished Fellows shall require nomination by an active NAP member; application, review and recommendation by the Academy of their profession; and a majority vote of the members of the NAP Council. Nominees shall be US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliens who have an exemplary career of ten years or more, and are committed to interprofessional practice and accessible, affordable healthcare for all. Applicants are judged by distinguished peers to have made significant and enduring contributions in their profession. Election as a Distinguished Fellow shall be for life, upon annual payment of membership dues. Allowed use of FNAP credentials, upon annual payment of membership. 

Per NAP bylaws, those who qualify to be Fellows but are not US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliens, may be inducted as Affiliate Members. Affiliate Members are entitled to all privileges of membership except voting and holding office.

Distinguished Practitioner Fellow, FNAP

Individuals who have spent a significant portion (10 years or more) of their professional career in the practice and direct delivery of health care services. They are judged by distinguished peers to have made enduring contributions in their profession.

Distinguished Scholar Fellow, FNAP

Individuals with academic achievements such as significant and enduring educational and/or research contribution to practice. They are judged by distinguished peers to have made significant and enduring contributions in their profession.

Distinguished Public Policy Fellow, FNAP

Individuals who have made a significant and enduring public policy contribution to healthcare practice. They are judged by distinguished peers to have made significant contributions to interprofessional healthcare.

Distinguished Fellow Annual Dues: $275, in addition to academy dues.

 

Professional Member, PNAP

Healthcare professionals from one of NAP's academies who take interest in interdisciplinary healthcare issues and have 5 or more years of experience making contributions to their field may qualify for Professional Membership. Professional Member nominees must also be US citizens, permanent resident aliens, or resident aliensProfessional Membership requires nomination by self or colleague (an active NAP member), then review and approval of the academy. Professional members may hold offices within Academies, except for chair or chair-elect, and participate in committees. Allowed use of PNAP credentials, upon annual payment of membership. 

Professional Member Annual Dues: $220, in addition to academy dues.

 

Associate Member

Associate Members may be healthcare professionals from any field who take interest in interdisciplinary healthcare issues, and may also be an individual who:

  • does not meet the requirements to become a Distinguished Fellow or Professional Member
  • a current student
  • currently does not fit under the Academy system

Associate Member Annual Dues: $140

 

Retired Member
