The 2024 award winners will be recognized at the NAP Forum, March 14-16, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Nominations are accepted until Friday, September 22nd for the following awards:

Nicholas A. Cummings Highest Distinguished Fellow Award

Named for the National Academies of Practice's Founder, the organization's highest award is presented annually to a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice who has demonstrated outstanding or extraordinary contributions to the National Academies of Practice and Interprofessional healthcare.
- Nominee must be a NAP Fellow
- Nominator can be a NAP member or non-member (cannot self-nominate)
- May be given annually (when a suitable candidate is nominated)
Nomination to include:
- Background on the nominee
- Nominee's CV
- Details on how they fit the award criteria
- Three additional letters of support are required as well. One of the letters of support must be from a non-NAP member. Each individual letter of support is not to exceed 2 pages in length.
Interprofessional Group Recognition Award

This award is given to groups who have made enduring contributions to interprofessional practice and education.
- Nominee(s) can be NAP members or non-members
- Nominator can be a NAP member or non-member (and can be a member of a group he/ she is nominating)
- May be given annually (when a suitable candidate is nominated)
Nomination to include:
- Who was involved
- Description of the contributions to interprofessional practice and interprofessional education
- Description of how the contributions are enduring
- Additional supporting documentation may be submitted
Creativity in Practice & Education Award

This award recognizes a person and/ or team who display creative solutions in interprofessional education and/or interprofessional practice, thereby achieving improvements in healthcare.
- Nominee(s) can be NAP members or non-members
- Nominator can be a NAP member or non-member (and can be a member of a group that he/she is nominating)
- May be given annually (when a suitable candidate is nominated)
Nomination to include:
- Name of project
- When the project started and how long has it been in place
- All participants involved
- Description of how this is a creative project and/or solution
- Description of how this project achieved improvements in healthcare
- Additional supporting documentation may be submitted
Patient Advocacy Award

This award recognizes a patient or care partner whose lived experience transformed him, her or them and how their lived experience transformed healthcare to enhance the well-being of others.
- Nominee(s) cannot be a NAP member
- Nominator can be a NAP member or non-member (and can be affiliated with or connected to the patient or care partner being nominated)
- May be given annually (when a suitable candidate is nominated)
Nomination to include:
- Whether nominee is a patient, care provider, or both
- Description of how the nominee transformed interprofessional healthcare
- Description of the nominee's lived experience
- Additional supporting documentation may be submitted
Emerging Interprofessional National Academies of Practice Member of the Year Award

This award is given to a NAP member who is an early to mid-career professional, serves as an exemplar and demonstrates future promise in contributing to interprofessional practice and to the National Academies of Practice.
- Nominee must be an active NAP member (associate, professional, fellow, affiliate) from any profession or discipline
- Nominator must be an active NAP member; self-nominations are not accepted
- Award may be given annually (when a suitable candidate is nominated)
Nomination to include:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation: one (1) NAP member nominator letter and one (1) non-NAP member letter addressing the nominees interprofessional work and creative contribution, background on the nominee, and details on how they fit the award criteria
- At least one published work demonstrating the nominee's innovative collaborative work or contributions (publications, course resources, trainings, presentations including virtual, podcasts, webinars, etc.)
- Additional supporting documentation may be submitted
NAP Leadership Award (formerly Senator Daniel K. Inouye Award)

This award is given to an individual working to advance interprofessional education/interprofessional collaborative practice (IPE/IPCP) and whose actions and results align with the NAP mission and vision. The award recipient is a non-NAP member who has displayed transformative leadership in advancing policy that supports IPE/IPCP.
- Nominee cannot be a NAP member
- Nominator must be a Council member
- May be given biannually in alignment with NAP Forums in DC
